nvidia nforce 430i IDE driver buggy
I am a newbie to this forum but have gray hair from the amount of heartache put into getting my newly built system to be stable when installing Win XP Pro SP2 and using a sata drive as my boot drive (no other drives).
Windows recognizes the drive fine on install and installs fine all the way through however when I apply the MSI-provided NVidia drivers for the SMbus and Realtek audio, XP goes buggy with constant failures on the boot up. From my research, I have determined that NVidia has a problem with its IDE driver but I have not been able to determine how to ultimately fix the issue...multiple rebuilds and still the problem persists. Others must have been having this same problem out there. Any ideas on how to fix? |
