Re: USB Drivers Unrecognized

hi i'm experiencing similiar problems, these are my specs. MSI KM4M-V Socket A Motherboard,AMD Athlon XP3000+ Socket A CPU Barton Core 333FSB,PPA 3.5" Internal Card Reader.Ultra 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz CL3 ,XFX GeForce FX 5500 256MB TV/DVI AGP Video Card. and im running windows xp pro service pack 2. it all started when my mouse stopped working, so i went out and bought the same brand of mouse, and it didnt work, so i bought a different brand and it worked fine. so i reformatted my system. becaus i needed to anyways i do it about every couple months. so i fix the sound, like always becaus winxpro doesnt read my integrated sound card. that fixxed im like alright so i try to get on the internet my integrated network card is reading either. so after 3 days of trying to find drivers and i just go out and buy a pci network card. i plug it in and install the drivers works like a dream so im like alright thats fixxed. so im like ok then i try to plug my camera into the usb doesnt work i try to plug my mp3 player and its doesnt work then i try to use my card reader and it doesnt work my card reader is also a usb(internal usb) so all my usb's aren't working i go into device manager and the universal serial bus isnt even showing up its gone. so i checked to make sure everything was plugged in and it is everythings the same as before i started having the problems.i think i need the drivers but i can't find them anywhere. i thought that they came with xp. but the thing that gets me is on my hard drive i have 8 mb's of something that i can't get rid of when i reformat. is microsoft sabatoging me or something what is that 8mb's and is it cause the problem i dunno what it could making me have all these problems. but any help would be greatly appreciated im racking my brain over this.

My System

Re: USB Drivers

Hi,
MSI do a Live update for your drivers and bios.
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...2_no=&cat3_no=
This update supposedly will check your system and see what your missing.
You're obviously missing something and I'd guess it's chipset drivers, which are available at ViaArena.com if the update doesn't help.
Good luck!
