Fingerprint scanner drivers.... authentec?

I recently bought an MSI notebook from a vendor, the MSI MS-16332. It comes with a fingerprint sensor, and I'm having a lot of trouble locating the necessary drivers. I think the make is authentec, but my vendor wasn't able to provide any information. I've been through all the drivers that came with the notebook, and though I have found the relevant ones, I don't think they're for Windows Vista.

I'm not an expert at this, but I don't think any more information is needed. I've looked at the manufacturer websites and I can't seem to find anything. Can anyone give me a way (short of taking the notebook apart) of properly identifying the make and model of the scanner- or ideally the location of up to date drivers. Many thanks, fe.

Re: Fingerprint scanner drivers.... authentec?

Oh, forgot, there is software (though I don't think its relevant as the software works fine); Veriscan, and in control panel there is an option for "Trueprint sensor properties v 7.6.0.26". The control panel option states: "Warning, no sensor found". fe.

Suprised Re: Fingerprint scanner drivers.... authentec?

I appreciate that you want an answer, and that your topic may fit more than 1 area of the site, but please don't post more than once, it gets messy and difficult for those helping if you are getting replies in your other thread, if the mods\admin feel you posted in the wrong section, or that you may get better help in another section then they will deal with it appropriately for you, so only the 1 thread is required, and a bit of patience, Thanks.

Anyway onto your problem, >>>Here<<< appears to be your download page, but I see no signs of the fingerprint software\driver anywhere.
Assuming that doesn't help try >>>This<<< system scan, it will automatically scan your system and list all the appropriate downloads for it (as best I can make out).

If none of this helps then post back and we can look again and see what else we can suggest, but please check under your device manager in the control panel to see if there are any conflicts showing with an exclamation mark, if there is take note of what it is against and let us know so we can see what is going on, hope this helps a bit anyway.
