Blinking Drive

Recently I had replaced my CD-Rom drive and there is a separate light that keeps flashing next to the hard drive sybmbol

I don't know if this is a joke, but someone told me that "Its using morse code trying to establish first contact!"

Is this a joke, I'm sorta dumb when it comes to computers. Can someone verify this?

yes they are pulling your leg it is just the ide light flashing normally
