SW-240b not recognizing cd

Hi Everyone,
I have a dell that came with a samsung cd/cw-r 240b, which for some reason stop working about six months ago. It says it is unable to copy or that the cd is full when it is a new cd. Can someone please help. I need to burn my music. Thanks

sounds like your cd-rw is knackerd it doesnt cost mutch to buy another one though and its easy to install

You could try putting a drive cleaner CD in the drive to see if this helps as it may be dirty and therefore not reading the discs properly. You can buy a CD that has very thin brushes on them that will clean the drive, it only costs about £2.00 or $4.50 or so.
