DVD drive not working HELP!!

My DVD drive wont work, it wont read or burn cds, DVDS or install anything, ive tried reinstalling it and it wont work, ive tried updating it and this doesnt work either! When i go in to my devidces there is an exclamation mark next to the driver, what does this mean and what do i have to do to sort it out????

first check that you can see it in the bios
uninstall it from the device manager reboot and see if it is ok after windows reinstalls it

im really not technical sory! Whats the bois, and how do i do everything you just said?

get your m/board manual out and have a look at it for the page that shows the drives
to enter the bios you usually press the delete key when it tells on the bottom of the post screens
go to the page that shows the drives and see if the dvd is listed
if it is not seen by the bios it will not be seen anywhere and will not work
don't forget to save the bios when exiting,when iy asks select yes and press enter
