Please help....won't reformat
Ok, I want to reformat my computer but the dvd-drive isn't recognizing the disk. However, when it boots up it does, although it wont read some disks. It is recognized in bios also. Oh and when it boots XP it says something bout the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels being unable to be installed. I am soon gonna drive a new drive and XP disk. Appears to be IRQ problems or something IF any one can help I would appreciate it very much it.
BTW before it was BSODing and I was getting "Multiple IRP Request Complete" errors and IRQ errors. |

Will it boot from your XP install disk? If so, boot from it, delete your partition(s), and then reformat and reinstall. Any IRQ issues are irrelevant as far as reformatting is concerned. However, after you reformat and reinstall XP, IRQ issues do become relevant. What kind of drive do you have, IDE or SATA, and is your hard drive showing up in the BIOS? It must show up in the BIOS or you won't be able to reformat it.
