Exclamation Sound/NIC Driver Issues

I'm having some trouble with my brother's computer that I built early last year. Last Sunday it wouldn't boot due to "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DRIVE", on Friday I found some time to start working on it. I first put the HDD into my machine and backed up anything I was worried about loosing, pics, saves, installers, exct. I then put the HDD back in and booted to the Windows disc and ran the recovery console. I tried fixmbr, it didn't work, then I ran chkdsk /r, fixboot, and fixmbr. That gave me Windows back. But yesterday he tried to go on and he had no sound or NIC. I spent the rest of the day trying to re-install the drivers and get them to work. The NIC gives me a (Code 10) error, and the Sound Card gives me a (Code 39) error. Please help.

The comp's stats:
OS: Win XP Home SP1
Mobo: ASUS P4S800
Sound: Intergrated SoundMAX AC'97 (?)
NIC: Intergrated SIS 900-Based Fast Ethernet (?)

Do you want any other info?
