Very Strange Problem
Thanks in advance for any help.
I have this really strange problem that I'm pretty sure has to do with my graphics driver. If I run windows in safe mode or I uninstall my graphics driver everything functions like it should, but when I install ANY of the nvidia drivers I start to have problems. The strange thing is that the problems aren't just with the graphics. If i have one of the graphics drivers installed and I go to play a music file, it sounds like a cd thats skipping. Also the most annoying problem by far is that my mouse has very choppy erratic movements. It also takes longer for my computer to boot up and respond. Again, these problems only appear when I have a graphics driver installed. What I think might have caused it was something that I did in Rivatuner. My GPU and drivers were working fine until i downloaded it. I was careful to stay away from the power user section and really the only settings i changed were the fan settings on the GPU. Still it seems to me that this is the only thing that could have done this. So far i have tried different drivers (using driver cleaner in between installs), system restore, and the windows HD error checker, all with no success. Any ideas how to fix this? My card: BFG 6800GT OC |

Nevermind, i found the solution. I had speedfan and rivatuner installed at the same time, i think they were both using the same service to change settings on the hardware and it cause some problems with the motherboard. Funny thing is,
my temperature gauge on the nvidia control panel was messed up because of all the problems and it showed my card at 256C at idle, i opened the case expecting to see liquid hot magma.
