DVD Decoder

I've been trying to watch the first season of lost on my laptop. But when I put the dvd in my dvd drive, you can hear the drive start running then I get nothing. It says there are no disks in the drive.

Is there any type of drivers I'm missing or something. I had a problem with my laptop and had to purchase a new HD and also a new version of windows. Ive had to re-install some other drivers but that was mainly for my sound card and my wireless.

Here is a screen shot of my Media Player saying nothing is in the drive when Lost is in fact in the drive.

You're certian this is a DVD capable drive? WMP is showing that it's being seen as a CD-ROM drive at the time.
