I reformated my desktop not too long ago, and went to play a DVD on it today, and when I clicked on the DVD player it said it cannot play because there wasnt a DVD decoder? Is there anything I can do or am I just out of luck and can't play DVD's anymore.

You need codecs. K-lite codec pack is real good, do a google, alot of
free choices out there. Coles is another good codec pack..
