Re: Building and Learning

games like GTA IV ,Prototype and more new games like assassin creed 2 that is going to come and needs very COOL cpu and etc...anyways phaedrus if it was necessary i can spend less than 800$ but that burns money so if it be between 300~500$ and become a pro pc then thats cool...
and also i think my power supply is not bad it is Green brand and model of midi 2005 plus
but if it needs to be changed then so be it...thanks

youd be hard pressed to build a good gaming system for that budget.

If you want to go for the E8400 (I have one) then you need a motherboard that is LGA775 campatible.

Re: Building and Learning

No the E8400 will work. I mean you will have to up your budget probably to the $800 you mentioned, you would need to add a good brand power supply and faster ram.

Re: Building and Learning

Whether the E8400 will work in your motherboard or not depends on which version it is. For the GA-945P-S3 came in three different versions, v1.0, v2.0, and v3.3. Only v3.3 has CPU support for the E8400

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=2432

Normally you can tell what version it is by looking on the motherboard itself, will usually say near the brand and model number printed on it.
