Pc Build Help

Hi i have read some of the posts here and the response i see people getting is very useful, i am considering building a pc and i would like a some advice on my choices please.

Processor - AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 630 2.80GHz (Socket AM3)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...atid=6&subcat=

Memory - Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-190-CS

or

- OCZ Blade 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=813

Graphics Cards - Two x Asus GF GTS250 Dark Knight PCI-Express 2.0 512Mb DDR3 256Bit Memory Clk 738MHz Shader Clk 2.2GHz 2 x DVI-I

http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...prodID=1712510

Power supply - Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...id=123&subcat=

or

- OCZ Z-Series 850w Modular '80 Plus Gold' SLI Ready Power Supply

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...id=123&subcat=

Hardrive - Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB Cache

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=14&subcat=

I have not yet decided what motherboard i wish to purchase that is one of the questions i would like to ask people, whether they have any suggestions of a reliable motherboard that would suit these components for a price no higher than £120.

I have seen this so far.

Asus M3N72-T Deluxe nForce 780a SLi (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...atid=5&subcat=

I have put a couple of choices of memory, opinions on which to choose would be great and maybe a little information on what to look for when choosing ram.

Also i have done the same for the psu, the same goes for that please.

I am not 100% sure that all these products are compatible with one another so any help with that would be appreciated and information on how to check compatibility when choosing products. Also if anyone knows of better parts i should choose instead of what i have so far or any additions i should make to this setup i would like to hear your opinion.

I know i've asked alot of seperate questions within this post but even if someone could just give me some of the information i am asking for i would be very grateful, thank you.

Re: Pc Build Help

Asus & Gigabyte are good quality Mobo's.
I would go with the Corsair power supply.
Corsair and OCZ are both good RAM.
One good graphics card is sufficient. Two graphics cards will not render enough performance increase to justify the increase in price.

Re: Pc Build Help

I agree with Tyree

One 260GTX will kick the snot outta two 250's

often times you can even buy the 275 superclocked for the same price as the 260gtx

the Corsair 850TX is the best bang for the buck right now

I have found the OCZ power supplies to be "average" why settle and pay for "average"

Re: Pc Build Help

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I will be buying the corsair psu and iv been looking at the 275 GTX and i think il purchase just one of them like you've mentioned. Im guessing its best to go with the BFG model as you get a lifetime warranty. Also if anyone can answer some of my other questions i'd appreciate it, many thanks.

Re: Pc Build Help

Both of your RAM choices are good.
The WD Hdd is a very good choice. 32MB Cache and 5 yr. warranty.
I don't do AMD but you can't go wrong with an Asus Mobo.
I can't comment on the BFG GPU. I always use EVGA for Nvidia chipped GPU's.
Everything you have listed is compatible.
