Confused Need Help with new Computer

Last week I put a new I5 computer together, here are the details

3.5in USB 2.0 Multi Card Reader with eSATA
CoolerMaster Gladiator 600 with 500W
XFX Radeon HD4870 1GB
BenQ G2420HD 24in Widescreen LCD Monitor
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3P Motherboard
Intel Core i5 750
Patriot PC3-10666 2x2GB DDR3 PVV34G1333LLK
ASUS DRW-24B1ST DVDRW Black
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HD103SJ

When I powered the system up it kept making continous short beeps which according to the m/b manual mean't a power failure. I swapped the power supply out for a 800w odin Gt and still the same result.
I had 12v on all my connectors.
I sent the m/b back to where I got it from and they said there is no fault with the board, so I am stuck!
What else could be causing this fault??
The system will start but it doesn't boot to the bios or anything it just sits there idle and continously beeps.

I am desperate as I can't think what else may be causing this and as I do not have a spare I5 processor or dd3 ram i cannot test if they are causing the fault, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need Help with new Computer

My guess would to check the connection from the psu to the cpu and make sure the cpu is placed correctly. Also ram have placed can cause this, happened to my mums system when building it.

If that doesn't work and you can't see any errors either bring it to a computer store for like 50 bucks they'd run some tests and fix it (AUS) or wait a bit more and get another fix from another member. Hope this helps!

My System

Re: Need Help with new Computer

Bench Test

Remove EVERYTHING from the case
Set the motherboard on a non conductive surface. The motherboard box is perfect for this. DO NOT PLACE THE MOTHERBOARD ON THE STATIC BAG! It can actually conduct electricity! We are going to try and assemble a running system outside of the case.
Install the CPU and heat sink.
Install 1 stick of RAM.
Install the video card and attach the power supply connection(s) to the card if your card needs it.
Connect the monitor to the video card.
Connect the power supply to the motherboard with both the 24pin main ATX Power connection and the separate 4 or 8 pin power connection.
Connect power to the power supply.
Do NOT connect ANYTHING else. Make sure you have the power connector on the CPU fan connected.
Use a small screwdriver to momentarily short the power switch connector on the motherboard. Consult your motherboard manual to find which two pins connect to your case's power switch. Then touch both pins with a screwdriver to complete the circuit and boot the system.

If all is well, it should power up and you should get a display. Then assemble the parts into the case and try again. If the system now fails to boot, you have a short in the case and need to recheck your motherboard standoffs.

If the system does not boot after this process, then you most likely have a faulty component. You'll need to swap parts, start with the power supply, until you determine what is defective.
