Need help about these specs please

Hi there!

I'm deciding to buy a new computer and unfortunately I can't assemble one coz I can't afford it. So I'm looking in the internet and came across a these one package and I'm interested in it.

Here are the specs:

Intel Pentium DUAL CORE E5300 2.6GHz Wolfdale /2MB L2/800MHz FSB/LGA775
ASROCK G31M-S FSB 1600 (O/C)
1GB DDR2 RAM
160GB SATA 7200 RPM (can upgrade to a much higher hdd)
500 Watts Power Supply
CDRW (can still upgrade it to dvdrw)
High Quality T28R-LCD Case

(package includes basic keyboard, optical mouse and the driver cd)

This is not included in the package though I'm going to add to the computer:

PCI-E nVidia 7300 GS-512mb

Could you tell if these are okay? And if there would be any suggestions on a good com specs, I would appreciate it.

Here in my country this package would cost 13,220PhP or around 300USD. I have a budget of around 15000 t0 20000Php or 320 to 425USD. A LCD monitor is included in the budget and I'm choosing between Samsung T190 and Samsung SyncMaster 932B Plus. But then again if my budget won't allow me, I would go for much cheaper products but I don't want to disregard the quality.

If there would be any questions about this topic, I'd be glad to post a reply. Hope you could help and THANKS in advance!

Here is the photo of the Unit that got me interested. Hehehehe....

Re: Need help about these specs please

Prebuilt PC's tend to use low quality parts and particularly the PSU.
ASRock Mobo's are not good quality.
Asus and Gigabyte are good Mobo's.

Re: Need help about these specs please

Okay... I'll keep that in mind. But let me just ask you a question. Will this specs work for an internet shop that will include gaming and internet???
Just wanted to know.

Anyway, here is my other option. Will you kindly check it for me?

Processor Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 Ghz, 3MB,1066Mhz
Motherboar Asus P5KPL-AMSE, Intel G31 Chipset
Memory Kingmax 2 GB DDR2-800, 240pin
On Board Graphics Intel GMA3100 Up to 256MB Shared
Hard Drive Seagatel 250 GB Serial ATA 7200rpm
Optical Drive Samsung SH-S223 22x DVD Writer
Card Reader All In One Card Reader, USB 2.0 Embedded
Audio System 8 -Channel High Definition Audio
Casing Compteq S93RB Case, 500w PSU Front USB/Audio Port
LAN On Board 10/100 mpbs
Keyboard A4Tech Smart Keyboard PS/2
Mouse A4Tech OP-620 Optical PS/2
PC Camera A4Tech PK-730MJ 5 Megapixels w/ LED
Headset E-Blue Blomst 3.5m Jack Stereo Headset
LCD Monitor AOC 717VMX 17 Inch Wide, 1440x900, 5ms
FREE 500watts AVR

About the PSU, I could change it right? And my choice for that is a corsair 500w. Is it appropriate? And just like what I told you, I can opt to upgrade some of the specs here.

Thanks!

Re: Need help about these specs please

Gaming on that PC would be limited using Onboard graphics but it would be a decent PC.
DDR2800 RAM would be a better match than the 1066.
A Corsair 500W PSU would be a good choice.
If you plan on adding a dedicated GPU later you might want to consider a larger powered PSU.

Grin Re: Need help about these specs please

Thanks Tyree! I appreciate it so much.

I just have a question about the ram. What do you mean about that?

Yes, I'm planning to buy a gpu. So you're telling me that if I upgrade the gpu I also have to change the psu? Also, I'm aware of NVIDIA as one of the leading kinds of graphics cards around. (Please correct me if I'm wrong) Could you sharee some knowledge on this, please...

But for now, I'm going to look at the unit personally and if I have doubts about it, I hope you'd still help me.

And two more favor please....

First, sales employees would always offer upgrades for the unit they are selling so I just want to ask if there are some things you could share about this like the memory, hdd and oftenly the monitor and any other stuff.

Second, could you give good specs for an internet shop computers? Specs that are enough to run that business but will not cost to much. My best friend and I are planning to put up one.

Please forgive me if I ask too many questions. But thanks a lot!

Keep it up and to the rest of the people like you!

Re: Need help about these specs please

a video card psu will range from 550-850w in most cases some go higher

you need to have a fair idea what you will be getting before it can be specified

Re: Need help about these specs please

My apologies about the RAM. I thought I saw 1066 listed in post #3.
I'm not clear on what you mean by "Internet Shop PC". If you're referring to PC's for customer use go with prebuilts (i.e. Dell-HP/Compaq etc.)
No problem about asking questions.

@dai
I'm always looking back to my thread that you helped me with. Thank you!

@Tyree
I'm sorry if I got you confused. It is the computers used in an internet cafe for rental. We commonly call those places a "shop".

Okay! I'll be posting any updates about my purchase and if ever I got problems again. I'll be returning to this forum.

Thank you so much!
