I Am new to building computers but I am very well informed. I use my good friend Google a lot. I have recently ordered all parts needed to complete my computer and i am currently waiting for the to come in. I just wanted some outsiders look on if my computer will be any decent or if i should exchange for some parts before I open them and such. I just want my first computer to be epic.

Re: In Process of Building Computer
Get a different power supply for sure. You need a quality 750W unit for that system, and the Antec TruePower 550W is both underpowered and poorly designed (quad +12V rail system is criminally lazy on a 550W unit). I would recommend one of these power supplies:
Corsair TX750W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006 SeaSonic S12D 750W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151084 PC Power and Cooling S75CF 750W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341011

Re: In Process of Building Computer
You would do better building a 775. A good 775 build will outperform an i7 build and at a considerably reduced price. DDR3 RAM is very particular about Voltages and there are still many defective chips being recalled.
I'm not fond of anything XFX. Sapphire and Powercolor are better choices for ATI chipped graphics cards. Sapphire: 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102852 POWERCOLOR AX4890 1GBD5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131167 The Western Digital 1TB Black Hdd is about $16 higher than the Seagate but it's 7200RPM and comes with a 5 yr. warranty. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136284
