Building a Gaming Computer
I'm new building a computer thing, i have done some research
but there are component questions that still confuse me, as to power supply, cooling , which graphics card to choose, cpu choice and mobo , also even if i bought all the stuff i have a feeling i would forget somthing like ram, dvd drive, or such i like newegg.com and this is the tower i would like to use http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...nnorswebguidec is this a good tower, will i be able to cool the machine? and do i have to buy a $500.00 graphics card i plan to play fps and would like a computer able to keep up with other gamers my budget would be about $900.00-$1200.00 |

Re: Building a Gaming Computer
hi there are some stickys you can read on various areas of building
Power Supply Information and Selection Want to Build A New Intel or AMD Computer? Here are 6 suggested models with Spec How to Bench Test Your System Power Supply Information and Selection Important Processor Cooling Information info on thermal compound if you are new to overclocking / read here for starters there is more info around the forums which can help guide you,i personally prefer amd boards and chips,if your look for a power supply use a known good brand possibly around 650w min allow for upgrades, artic silver, and look for a better than stock heatsink unit, get together a full list of things you consider possible for your build then comeback and ask for opinions on your picks people like dai, linderman, triggerfinger,to name just a few are good people to get guidance from hope you find this usefull goodluck with your build

Re: Building a Gaming Computer
DDR3 setups are not suggested, by me, because of the issues with DDR3 RAM.
There aren't any good pics of the inside of the case you selected so it's difficult to endorse it. For $100, you could do as well or better with a CoolerMaster or Antec. For the $200 you could do better with the PSU. Look at Seasonic or Corsair. For another $5 you can get the WD 750GB Black Series w/5 yr. warranty.

Re: Building a Gaming Computer
Hey Searda,
For a graphics card i recommend any nvidia gtx series, heres a few you can choose from: GTX 260 $194.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130434 GTX 275 $239.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130475 GTX 285 $369.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143201 I personally like Intel Processors better, for gaming i suggest a Intel Duo-Core Cpu with high speed, like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115054 For a PSU i recommend a 1000W, just incase you upgrade your graphic card in the future at it might require more Watts. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139007 For RAM i recommend DDR2 as well, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145247 For a case i recommend the Coolermaster, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119160 Hardware team, this user asked me in a PM to help him out, this is why i supported in this area of TSF. However, Searda, the hardware team knows much more than i do in building computers. Hopefully this post will help you out, I'm currently working on building a new gaming computer myself. Good Luck!

Go with the X4 955, $60 cheaper and not much difference compared to the 965

Re: Building a Gaming Computer
Your link to Newegg does not work.
The link to Amazon does not go to a case but I assume it's the same case as your first post? Look at this thread for some ideas. Want to Build A New Intel or AMD Computer? Here are 6 suggested models with Spec

Re: Building a Gaming Computer
You can build a PC using DDR2 RAM that will perform as well, if not better, that one that uses DDR3 RAM and save money at the same time.
You would have to select a Mobo that uses DDR2 RAM. Asus and GB are good quality boards. If you are doing very heavy muti-tasking or very intensive graphics work the Quad Core is what you need. For gaming and general computing a Dual Core will serve you better.
