Looking for help with new build

Hi

Just after some help or advice on a new build pc i am working on.
I have read through the bench testing post but still have the same problem, upon switch on the fan spins for 2-3 seconds then stops and nothing happens.

Have tried with no ram, clearing cmos and even a different psu but keep getting the same result.

Motherboard asus msn68-am se2
cpu amd athlon 64 x2 dual core with standard heatsink and fan
psu Hec 550 w

This is my first build after just upgrading various pcs for the past few years.

Any help or advice would be gratefully welcomed.
Thanks

Re: Looking for help with new build

No POST with just cpu and ram installed = most likely a toasted board.

By the way this is how my M2N-E acted when it finally calved.

Re: Looking for help with new build

Would that be a M2N68-AM board?
Which X2 CPU do you have?
Do you have both the 24 pin main and the 4 pin CPU power hooked up?
Do you have a motherboard or case speaker hooked up?
