Help a new guy
Hey all, newbie here- I'm looking to build my first computer and I could use a little advice before I jump right in, go figure! I'm looking to build something that ranges up to about $1600, but hopefully not that much. Ideally I want a machine that will be everything I need, pretty much an all-in-one, only I'll be hooking it up to a widescreen HD monitor. I want to have a TV tuner with a PVR and remote, I'm looking at 1.5-2 TB hard drive and I'd like top of the line HD graphics without over spending if possible, as I do not play any hardcore games. All I will use it for is email, microsoft office programs, some lighter games, and TONS of media, mostly video, but also ITunes and other audio. I tend to lean towards Intel CPUs, but I could be easily persuaded if it is not superior in quality. I would like something very fast but again, not more than I need for my needs. I don't have a case or motherboard picked out yet, and I have to assume I'll be installing Vista on it, even though it sucks. I'd like to get the best deals I can while building this while still getting the power, speed, and video quality i am looking for. If anybody has any suggestions I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance and sorry I rambled so long!

Re: Help a new guy
The $800 build, in the link that simpswr provided, would be more than sufficient for your needs. Substitute any parts that you might want to change, i.e. larger Hdd and possibly a Quad Core CPU, if you're going to be doing intense graphics work.
