Building my first PC, need some help

Here's my wishlist:

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/M...spx?ID=9024334

I'm currently working on a $700 budget. (just tower) I know the wishlist is over $700 but that is because some of these products are New Egg combo deals and the actual price is $664, this gives me $36 of upgrade room (possibly processor?). Just need some advice cause really i'm only going based on reviews and my small amount of knowledge. The combo deals are for the graphics card/motherboard ($31 discount) and case/power supply ($75 discount) THIS PC IS FOR GAMING ONLY. i plan on putting some money into this PC over the course of the next 2-3 years, i currently play WoW and plan on playing CoD MW 2, Starcraft 2, and Star Wars OR JvsS

all advice is appreciated and criticism of course!

questions:

quad core or dual core?
do i need more cooling? read alot of reviews about the graphics card getting very hot, the last thing i want to do is fry my PC, and id rather spend the money and be safe rather than sorry.

thanks again!

motherboard = GA-EP45-UD3L is FAR better board

xclio power supply is a weak one; look for Corsair 750 watt

the rest looks ok

Re: Building my first PC, need some help

Hello and welcome to TSF!

First of all change the power supply to this OCZ 700w, only 5 dollars extra and is much better.

Secondly with that extra $30 get the E8400 @ 3.0GHz.

Oh and you might wanna add a dvd drive hehe

Re: Building my first PC, need some help

For about $11 more, you can have the Corsair 750 that was suggested by linderman. It is by far the best of any mentioned here, and don't try that video card with a 550 watt, that is not powerful enough. While a great 650 might pull it, that is very near the minimum needed to pull it and for $11, that would not be wise.
]
Also, the board you have selected is not high quality...the one linderman suggested is much better.

Finally, the e-8400 as mentioned by the previous poster is much stronger.

If these items won't fit in your budget, you might want to consider a cheaper case to get the items you actually need.
