Re: Worth the buy?

those are rather weak computing machines / but then again your budget is restricted

for $500.00 we can give you a list of parts with alot more power but no monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drives, DVD rom burner

for the above budget you will get

case

motherboard

power supply

memory

cpu

video card

however these parts will game nicely!

Re: Worth the buy?

Imo you would be better of building your own, be aware those parts are pretty old these days and the RAM and PSU are probably value brands

I've found a better deal below, much better specs for the same price!

Re: Worth the buy?

Considering there's shipping taxes to canada, its about 70$ more, and buying online is not an option for me...

Re: Worth the buy?

Depends where you are, southern ont. has plenty of brick and mortar stores with decent deals, TigerDirect has a half dozen or so, and there's others like CanadaComputers, also more that I can't recall offhand. Out in BC there's ncix, not sure how many locations, but I'm thinking 4. If you're near a big city, you'll have access to decent buys.

Re: Worth the buy?

Unfortunately, the OP says no online. Too bad, that's the way to go, I order mostly from www.ncix.com or www.newegg.ca and the odd time, very very rarely, from www.tigerdirect.ca . It's TD that really hurts with the shipping.
Side note, was putting in an order at ncix yesterday, they had a deal that if you bought a ten buck gift card, the shipping was free for the entire order. Like getting a free ten buck card, was less expensive after adding the card to the order than before. Go figure eh.

Re: Worth the buy?

Newegg US accepts Money orders so I assume Newegg Canada does also.

Re: Worth the buy?

I think newegg.ca takes paypal, I know ncix does, and I think I've used that, instead of the credit card, at newegg too, but could be mistaken on that one.
