Re: Computer Budget
Not fanboyism. AMD has put out some good CPUs in the past, and they'll probably make more in the future, but for this generation of processors they got their butts whupped. Benchmarks:
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/d...x1050,818.html The E7400 isn't on there, but it would probably fall below the E8400 but above the E8200. I know you aren't playing Crysis, but it's a good judge of gaming performance. |

Re: Computer Budget
Nice find on that mobo/PSU combo. 4870 is a great gaming card, more than you'll need for the Sims, but still a good choice. I don't know much about AMD CPUs, but I assume if they both use the AM3 socket they'll work.
Looks good to me. I've never used an XClio case, the ones most recommended around here are the Antec 300/900/1200 cases or Coolermaster Centurion/HAF. Antec 900 is the same price as the XClio and I can attest that it is a great case, though the PSU being on bottom can make wiring your SATA devices a hassle, but it's manageable. Otherwise it all looks good. I say you're about ready. Good luck! |

Re: Computer Budget
Your good, I've used quite a few of those Hans-G monitors they work well.
You could save a few more by dropping the Video card to a HD4770 and the Power Supply to the 550VX. |
