DDR2 is a much more stable and just as fast if not faster; memory right now vs DDR3 ............what made you opt for a DDR3 board ?

Re: I have around 1200 USD to spend on a computer :D
Any RAM will run any game. The speed of RAM has relatively little impact on performance compared to other parts. Also keep in mind that though DDR3 has higher clock speeds than DDR2, it also generally has much higher latency, which means you get less done per clock cycle, so your actual speed improvement is very little. With DDR3 RAM and motherboards that support it being so much more expensive, it's really just better to go with DDR2 unless you're building an i7 system. 4GB DDR2 800/1066 should be just perfect for a gaming computer.
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro Turbo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131377 $134.99 RAM: Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800 CL5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184 $46.99

Re: I have around 1200 USD to spend on a computer :D
Since you're not spending quite as much on the motherboard and RAM now, you might as well bump your graphics card up to a Radeon 4890. This is probably a good one to get:
PowerColor PCS Radeon HD 4890 1GB CoreOC@900MHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131160 $204.99
