Question Building A New PC...REALLY NEED ADVICE ?!!?!? (N00B)

Okay, I'm currently using an old Acer Aspire 7000 Laptop.
Soon im hoping to build a new computer. I'll try and make this as simple as possible. I will be using this computer for Graphic Design on all adobe programs (The CS4 Master Collection) And as a home studio PC (Recording and editing my own music) I don't have a lot of money, and im not sure what to pick as far as components go. I will list the specs im aiming for, and i ask that you post a link as to what product i should use. (Please make sure that the products you choose will work together) These are the specs i would like:

CASE

Either this : http://www.dabs.com/products/thermal...ndow-3R0W.html

Or this: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...oducts_id=3411

(Please vote which one you think would be better,or suggest a different case and provide a link)

RAM

- 4GB RAM Or above (Please provide a link for me ??)

HARD DRIVE

GRAPHICS CARD

- (Please provide a link for me ??)

SOUND CARD

- (Please provide a link for me ??)

PROCESSOR

- (Please provide a link for me ??)

MOTHERBOARD

- (Please provide a link for me ??)

As you can see i need a lot of help :( And please bear in mind that i dont have a lot of money to spend on this. My budget it probably somewhere around £400. Thankyou for taking the time to view this thread, and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks !!

Re: Building New PC...REALLY NEED ADVICE ???

well to start with .........I am not a "pretty" case lover...........there are cases like the Antec 300 / xclio wind tunnel / coolermaster centurion and coolermaster HAF 932 / Antec 900 which deliver top perfromance without wasted $$$$ the centurion being the cheapest of the lot

Re: Building New PC...REALLY NEED ADVICE ???

For graphic design you want the quad core build over the dual core.

Re: Building New PC...REALLY NEED ADVICE ???

wrench97 gave some very knowledgeable advice for a graphics design PC. A Quad Core CPU would be a much better choice.

**I am not a "pretty" case lover** too funny linderman.

Re: Building New PC...REALLY NEED ADVICE ???

I see alot of "budget" builders overpay thru the nose for LED's / designer bezels with monster heads and and clunker powersupplies that have LED's

might look "kick-n" in your computer room at nite; but it will cost you $$$$$$ when its laying on my computer bench during the day
