Buying and upgrading this Computer..

Can someone tell me if this is worth the buy?

http://london.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...AdIdZ140354965

AMD Athlon 2600+ 2.00GHz
1GB DDR Memory
120GB Hard Drive (Western Digital)
Video Card: ATI Radeon x1600 512MB DDR2
Sony CD-RW

would it be a good idea to buy it and then put some money into upgrading it?
-Upgrading the apg GFX card?
-Upgrading the processor?
-Changing the case?
-Extra ram?

Can someone give me an idea on how It should be upgraded?
-Thanks.

since it doesnt say what the motherboard or power supply is, I'd stay away and build from scratch. Looks like you plan on upgrading everything else anyways

Re: Buying and upgrading this Computer..

Your money would be better spent building your own as mentioned. This is old and slow technology in comparison to what you will end up with, even if you upgrade what you have purchased.

The cost/efficiency ratio of buying a cheapie and then upgrading it until you have quite a bit in it does not hold up to just starting from scratch. What you are proposing is to upgrade an old computer so it is a mediocre computer and I don't think that is what you have in mind.

Re: Buying and upgrading this Computer..

Hi, it's not worth upgrading it whether your gonna be playing games or watching movies. Build one yourself or buy a decent one :)

Re: Buying and upgrading this Computer..

To echo the above opinions. Pre-built PC's tend to use low quality parts.
