After Building, computer starts but stops before memory check

It starts. The monitor turns on, then it either shuts off before or on memory check. Haven't gotten past that yet. I am using the same parts that I used before, I was just cleaning the computer.

The motherboard may be the problem. If it is I'll go to the motherboard thread.

If the computer has only started to shut down after you cleaned it, you've probably knocked something. Remove all components, then put them back. Make sure the RAM is firmly locked into the slots.

new information. it has now gone further than the memory check. it even attempted to start the OS, but that didn't work. When I attempted to enter Bios to see if there were changes made, it turned off.

I wonder if its overheating. Try removing the CPU cooler, clean it with good quality rubbing alcohol (90%) and re-applying the thermal paste. You may have bumped the fan when you were cleaning it and broke the seal between the cooler and CPU
