OS: vista


1st time builder, what do you think???

i livein the uk, im looking to spend about £200, run either vista or xp and i will be mainly using it as a media centre aswell as running emulators and other games.

this is what i have come up with so far

Yeah, Pentium architecture is old and out dated. Look at a Core 2 series CPU instead.

Hitachi Deskstars are also called "Deathstars" for their failure rate. Samsung's Spinpoint line is good, though.

You don't have a Mobo listed.
DDR2800 RAM is a much better choice.
I don't know about Palit graphics cards.
I have some internet friends from the UK that use Hitachi Hdd's and seem to have good luck. The older Deskstars (deathstars) did have problems.

Palit is not bad, I tested some of them and they have worked well...
But, if you can purchase MSI or ASUS or perhaps Gigabyte GPU, that would be better than Palit ones...
Motherboard is not bad also...

XFX support is not good. Find a Mobo with Intel chipsets for an Intel CPU.
This one would be a better choice.
