connecting audio ports on Ambec case

I am building my first computer and have run into my first problem. I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UP4P mobo and a Antec Three Hundred Case. When it came time to connect the audio ports, the signal names for the pin assignments of the module connector for the HDA and AC'97 shown in the Antec user's manual do not match the pin assignments of the motherboard header shown in the mobo user manual. Is there any way around this? When I bought the case and mobo from Newegg, several reviewers had the same combination so I assumed they would be compatible. Am I missing something?

Re: connecting audio ports on Ambec case

The Ambec Three Hundred case.

I am thinking now that maybe the connectors aren't necessary. Maybe my graphics card will be enough.

Re: connecting audio ports on Ambec case

I considered connecting it despite the differences, but the Gigabyte manual says:

"Make sure the wire assignments of the module connector match the pin assignments of the motherboard header. Incorrect connection between the module connector and the motherboard header will make the device unable to work or even damage it."

It was the "or even damage it" part that kept me from trying it.

Re: connecting audio ports on Ambec case

That's correct the pins 6 and 10 are grounds or return for the speakers. Pins 5 & 9 the speaker signal, 1, 2 & 3 for the Mic.

Re: connecting audio ports on Ambec case

So I guess the connections should be okay?

Re: connecting audio ports on Ambec case

Yes the Antec description leaves a lot to be desired.
