First build - 32/64 BIT help

Please help, I think I have a 64 bit system as on my proc specs it has 64 in it :)
But, I do not know what operating system to buy as I dont know anything about it. If I buy a 32 bit when I got a 64 bit proc will it still run?
I am kind of limited on money, not got an exact amount, but I need a reasonably cheap OS to run on a 64bit Proc

32 bit is fine, the 64 bit means that it can run 64, not that it has to.
