First build CPU help

Hi everyone. A couple of days ago, I had a thread to review my first build before I ordered it. A friend showed me that the Intel q9550 recently had a price drop and I think I might use it instead of the e8500 dual core. I want to use it because I do some video converting and some of the games I want to play support multiple cores. Are there any AMD or Intel quad cores that would be better for a comparable price? Or is the q9550 a good enough cpu?

Here's the parts I would use with the q9550

EVGA gtx 275 superclocked (I can get it for the same price as the regular)

Re: First build CPU help

The q9550 should be meet your needs.
The stock HSF will be sufficient.
Your links don't work for me so I can't see the RAM you have chosen. 2X2GB PC6400 would match the CPU and Mobo well.
The WD Black series offers a 5 yr. warranty.
