Good gaming build?
Intel Core i7 920 Processor LGA1366 2.66GHz 8MB Cache CPU
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R X58+ICH10R QPI 6.4GT/s DDR3 2000 PCI-Ex16 SATAII RAID IDE GLAN heappipe ATX Kingston 6GB(3 X 2GB) DDR3-1333MHZ Samsung 750G SATA II 7200rpm 32M XFX GTX260+ 896M 216SP PCI Express (incl Far Cry 2) Samsung 22X DVDRW Black SATA Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case with side window Black(No PSU) Corsair TX-850 ATX Power Supply 140mm fan Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium64bit Basically i want to be able to play every game available in high quality and the majority of games to come. Also, id like to begin 3d animation and rendering for my multimedia classes. Any adjustments i should make? different mobo? |

Looks like a good build.
If I was doing this build, I would go with a different brand for the graphics card. Samsung DVDRW's are good readers but slow writers. If you do a lot of DVD burning I would suggest LG or Lite-On. That's my $.02.

Thx fr the replys.
So you would recommend Giagabytye or MSI? I can get a MSI gtx 275 for the same price at the moment, Although even though iv never dealt with them i have a strange feeling about MSI products. Also for the same price i can get a HD 4870. |

MSI has good graphics cards and they honor their rebates with a check.
The 4879 is very popular with gamers. Sapphire and PowerColor are very dependable.

That seems to be an excellent board. If I were building an i7 for personal usage, that is the motherboard I would choose, although the gigabyte boards are excellent. Either should work for you.
