Re: How to build Top of the range PC
Newer Mobo's use DDR2 RAM but you can still use the Hdd's. If you want use the older style RAM you will be severely limited on choices. Good news is, you can get 4GB of DDR2 for under $50
What would be the primary use for the PC and do you have a budget in mind?

Re: How to build Top of the range PC
Gaming and entertainment, i have all the software i need inclueding OS. I have got a zoostorm PM8M3-v professional office PC with MSI VIA P4M800CE chipset, Intel Pentium 4 Celeron (r) 3.20GHz.
This PC is not designed for my needs so i want to build my own using some of the bits i already have. Theirs too much choice when its comes to processors and motherboards, i'm not sure which would be best for me, i am looking to spend around £500 but still using as many of the components that a already have If anyone can help i would be very grateful thank you |

Re: How to build Top of the range PC
Your limited with that Mobo as the technology is pretty outdated.
You can use a 775 P4 CPU but I wouldn't advice it. The Mobo you have use Via chipsets and Intel CPU's can have issues with those. My best advice, purchase a new Mobo, CPU & RAM if/when your budget allows.

Re: How to build Top of the range PC
I might just build a new PC from scratch, buy everything apart from the HDD. I will be using my PC for Gaming, Entertainment and general multi-tasking, Could you tell me how much it will be to build a top range PC? one that will last about 4 years before i need to upgrade again.
Thanks Danny |
