Re: Building a New Gaming Rig
The Raidmax PSU is NOT a quality unit. Personally, I think the Raidmax cases are pretty low quality also.
You won't find 4GB of DDR3 RAM for that price. I would suggest looking at a Mobo that uses DDR2 RAM. The money you save can be out toward a quality PSU. XFX Graphics cards can also be a problem and their support is very bad. Look at PowerColor-Sapphire Example; ASUS P5Q Pro $119 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131299 RAM -CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 $47 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184 PSU -CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W $95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

Re: Building a New Gaming Rig
My team mate Tyree is very accurate about that power supply. I just don't think it would even begin to pull that model video card. You need to seriously consider the PSU he listed for you. I also don't disagree with his other suggestions, so suggest you heed his advice.

Re: Building a New Gaming Rig
Well than if you guys can help me get a Case and PSU under $100 that would support my mobo with graphic card than it would be better ASAP as i don't have enough time to return my case bck????
Also i bought after market heatsink http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134 so the case should fit the heat sink with enough space. Last edited by shefon20; 05-23-2009 at 01:50 AM. |

Re: Building a New Gaming Rig
To put it quite simply, you won't be able to purchase any quality power supply and quality case for under $100. If you are cutting costs in the power supply area, you are cutting in the wrong area, that is probably the most important component in your rig or as we say the "heart" of the rig.

Re: Building a New Gaming Rig
Take the $100 for a case and PSU-buy a quality PSU. i.e. the Corsair I linked to in Post #2
Return the $32 AC heatsink/fan (the stock will be sufficient) and apply that to a case. Good cases under $50; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...25%20-%20%2450
