Review my build

1. Budget: 300 - 400 eur

2. Brands: asus,gigabyte, anything reliable

3. Multitasking: normal home use, gaming - not more than 2/3hrs daily

4. Gaming: will probably give a shot at crysis but not utmost importance

5. Calculations: not really

6. Overclocking: no

7. Storage:

8. Legacy Support: 1 ide hdd

9. Operating System: win xp sp 3

10. Case: no, have one, thermaltake xazer 2 - will be using that for now

11. Accessories: have all the necessary except for a good set of 2.1 speakers

12. Recycled Components: yes , cpu amd athlon 64 X2 6000+, 320gb maxtor sata, ati 4670hd 512mb

13. Monitor: have crt, but am looking to change that in the coming month

14. Stores: not really

15. Location: malta, europe

You won't need the Zalman CPU cooler.
Drop the RAM to DDR2 PC6400

another question - is ram compatible with any motherboards that supports its speed?

The stock cooler will be fine.
Most Mobo's will accept any good brand of RAM but their are exceptions. GSkill is a good brand and the PC6400 should be fine with the ASUS M4A78 Plus.
I would also suggest not buying parts from Ebay. Look for a reliable online retailer.
