Re: Compatibility Okay?

Except for the power supply included with the case it should all work.
PSU's that come in cases are almost never any good and cause more problems then they are worth.

Also you would be better off using this it's actually a Phenom core x2> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103678

I'm not a bid ECS fan I prefer Asus or Gigabyte but the AMD boards from ECS seem to be ok lately.

The video card should work on it I'm also not big on mixing AMD integrated and Nvidia video but lately the driver issues between the 2 seems to quieted down.

What OS are you planning on running? 32 or 64 bit.

Re: Compatibility Okay?

I had a customer bring me one of those cases for a build but we sent it back. It is a VERY flimsy case w/many sharp edges.
2GB of RAM would be OK with 32Bit Vista but RAM is so cheap I'd go with 4GB.
Cheaper and both are PC6400
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) $48

CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB)$47

Re: Compatibility Okay?

32 Bit OS's have a mathematical limit to addressable ram space of 4Gig including system devices such as video cards and any other device needing address space. It will however see the 4gig in the Bios and report between 2.8 and 3.5 as usable usually around 3.2Gig.

As far as power I like at least 550w in a quality unit with any PCIe card this will give you plenty of head room to keep things cool and last a long time.

Or this is also a good unit

Re: Compatibility Okay?

Ah I guess I'll need a 64 bit for the ram to fully operate...

also I found another graphics card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150340

Is it better than the one above in turns of framerates and all?

ah nvm the graphics card needs another power supply which needs more power. dont think the motherboard above will be strong enough.

also will the black edition athlon you showed above able to overclock with the motherboard?

Re: Compatibility Okay?

If you get a 9600GSO I would suggest a different brand than XFX.
The EVGA is cheaper and they have good customer support.
EVGA 9600 GSO $70 ($20 rebate)

The cases Wrench97 listed are good quality and I'm a big fan of CoolerMaster cases but I will offer an alternative;
Antec Three Hundred $55 VERY nice case for the money and has excellent circulation.
