My System

Re: Please review my build

that is a good system. For hard drives, I really like Western Digital. Dont feel the need to get a 10k or 15k rpm drive though. They are not necessary, more of a luxury. A loud luxury!

That is a very good video card, but I wouldnt call it "top of the line"

Re: Please review my build

Seagate or Western Digital hard drives are both great IMHO. Either one would be a good choice.

On the question about the video card, it is a high performance card or at least higher than standard use video cards. However, the cards below are even higher performance, so you have to decide what is "top of the line" for you:

9800 gx2
GTX275
GTX 280
GTX 285
GTX 295

Choose your poison and decide how much you want to put in to something and that might depend upon how much total performance you want.

I am not suggesting you get one of these, but just pointing out these are higher performance than what you have listed.

Re: Please review my build

Is it necessary to get a higher quality video card for the purpose of playing games such as counter-strike source or Call of duty 4/5?

Re: Please review my build

Looking over your selected case I noticed it is for mAtx motherboards while you have selected an Atx board one of these cases is in the same price range accept Atx boards the last 3 to the right come with 2 fans which is what I prefer 1 in the front sucking in and 1 in the back blowing out> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068

You'll want a DVD burner as more and more software will be on DVD rather then CD like Vista and Win7> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135196

I'll ad my preferred DVDRW's to the pot.
LG $25 for copying that demands precision (i.e. back up DVD movies) and the Lite-On in Wrench97's link for an all around good unit.

Re: Please review my build

Vista or Win7, XP 64 will never have all the drivers straightened out the manufacturers have moved on to Vista and above.

Intels stock coolers work quite well, even with a mild overclock
