laptop VS desktop
Wasn't sure where to post this one. I have a laptop and desktop but will be replacing the desktop. I'm considering getting another laptop and just connecting it to my montior. Any opinions, advantages or disadvantages on this would be appreciated.

Re: laptop VS desktop
if you connect it to the monitor it should work. what about mouse and keyboard or you gonna use the keyboard on the laptop? personally I recommend just buying a new desktop if you are going to use it on one spot, unless space can be an issue. Like tyree sad laptops are expensive...I'm not an expert on computers, but I have heard sometimes it is better to replace a laptop rather than replacing a part. What will you be useing with the computer anyways?Any gaming or just someone who needs stuff such as microsoft word, powerpoint internet etc?

Re: laptop VS desktop
You can't beat the pre-builts on price but it is very easy to surpass them on quality, dependability and longevity (ability to upgrade).

Re: laptop VS desktop
Tigerdirect's got quad core machines for under 500. I definitely say go with a new desktop. Laptops should always just be cheap little portable computers. Something to watch movies and go on the net. Pretty much every laptop from the past 8 years can do that so no need to get a new one.
