New HTPC build - your thoughts please

Hey Guys,

Great site, and thanks Linderman for your help with my other build.

I'm going to be building the following:

Antec Fusion remote max
Gigabyte 790GX mobo - HDMI out
AMD 4850e CPU - low wattage
2 x 2GB 800 mhz RAM - probably Corsair XMS
2 x 1TB WD green HDD -
Bluray drive - recommendations please

I will be connecting this to a Yamaha 7.2 receiver so the HDMI out from the mobo will go straight to the AV receiver.

My question is does the HDMI out from the Giagbyte mobo support Dolby True HD sound, if not, if I use the mobo connections to get audio out into the Receiver I guess it will then be converted up to True HD ???

Thanks

Re: New HTPC build - your thoughts please

Even more confused now, I read yesterday that PowerDVD version 8 would allow Dolby True HD through HDMI as well as video. However, I've this morning read that Power DVD version 9 is out BUT it doesn't allow Dolby TrueHD via HDMI.

Anyone like to confirm please.....
