Trying to build my first PC

Hello, my friend told me it would be cheaper to build my own PC so I'm giving it a try. We are from Europe so he recommended I buy from this site http://www4.hardwareversand.de/home.jsp?lid=2. He helped me pick out a couple of things, but i'm looking for a couple of opinions on whether it will all fit together nicely or any improvements/savings that can be made.

Case: CoolerMaster HAF Mini
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...26910&agid=631

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...=8947&agid=185

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...19931&agid=398

Motherboard: MSI P45 Neo2-FR Intel P45
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...22291&agid=659

RAM: 4096MB-KIT Corsair XMS2 PC8500
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...22724&agid=677

HDD: Samsung HD753LJ 750GB
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...17725&agid=689

Drive: LG GH22NS40/NS30
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...23095&agid=699

PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650W
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...23607&agid=240

My friend gave me 2 options on the graphics card, and frankly i dont know which one to pick

XFX GEFORCE GTX 275 896 MB
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...26394&agid=554

Sapphire HD 4890 Light Retail OC 1GB
http://www3.hardwareversand.de/artic...6440&agid=1004

So will all that fit together nicely? Are there parts in there which aren't reliable that i need to change/upgrade? Or alternatively are there any parts in there that can be swapped for a cheaper one without compromising too much on quality? Also am i missing any parts? I will mostly use it for gaming, but i do watch, download, extract/join files at the same time.

Any comments would be deeply appreciated

Re: Trying to build my first PC

Not a big fan of Earthwatts PSU this one would be better for either of those video cards>

Are you looking to build a gaming rig? If so a faster clock speed CPU would be better.

The HD4890 is the better video card.

Re: Trying to build my first PC

Yeah i'm trying to build a gaming rig. I'll see if i can spare some extra cash for that processor and PSU you mentioned.

So can i assume that everything else is fine i.e. motherboard, RAM and will run smoothly together ?

Thanks for your replies

Re: Trying to build my first PC

Antec PSU's are now made by Seasonic.
I would look at a Asus or GB Mobo. The MSI Mobo's are not noted for their longevity.

Antec uses both Delta and Seasonic as their OEM. The early Earthwatts was Seasonic the newer ones are Delta. The Earthwatts 650 has always been made by Delta. The Neos and Trupower 3 (Trio) series were also made by Seasonic and supposedly still are according to JG reviews of the new Truepower 750. The Signature series is made by Delta.

Re: Trying to build my first PC

The only ones made by Delta, that I was aware of, were the ones that were included with Antec cases.

Re: Trying to build my first PC

Thanks for the replies.

How about this for a motherboard:
http://www4.hardwareversand.de/artic...22385&agid=659

Will I be able to add another 4890 graphics card later on with that motherboard?

Good board I've used a couple of them they worked very well.

For the HD4890 in crossfire I would want at least the HX1000 corsair to power them.

Re: Trying to build my first PC

Thanks again for all the help but i made a few changes to my build lol I also went with Komplett instead of hardwareversand because I feel safer ordering from an Irish site rather than a German one

Here is a pic of the build I ordered:

It should arrive in 2 - 3 days so I might be back here if the assembly doesn't go well

Re: Trying to build my first PC
