Insain Build

Ok so im a gaming maniac with money. Im searching the internet for new PCs parts but im looking for the ultimate motherboard that can do this otherwise its scraped.
This is the Build..

CPU: 2x Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 Nehalem 3.2GHz (Thats right Two)
M/B: Unknown
RAM: CORSAIR 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
GPU: 2x Nvidia Geforce 280GTX SLI (Will expand to 3-way-SLI)
HDD: Got them.. (Will change to SSD later)
PSU: 2x Corsair HX1000W
Case: I need to find on to get it all in there.

I also want two liquid cooling units so each unit can cool one CPU and 3 sticks of RAM.
Now is it true that Microsoft have put some type of limiter on XP and Vista that limits the amount of Logical cores you can have?

thanks guys i hope you can help me find the M/B i need.

Re: Insain Build

Looks like the fist Dual Socket I7 boards will be released on the 28Th, for Xeon 5500 series whether or not it will support an 920 or 940 remains to be seen.

Re: Insain Build

That board doesnt look the part though. I might have to wait a bit longer for a proper Gaming board of that type to come out.

I guess I know what you will be spending your stimulus payment on.

The board wrench posted was the only one I could find. Probably best to wait, at least the i7's will be a bit cheaper by then.

Re: Insain Build

Well its a project more or less, not really trying to prove anything. Im going to ask my Local PC store if they want to help collect the parts for me (get rid of the postage costs lol) and then showcase the PC once its complete.

I searched and searched some more and only found this: http://www.directron.com/z7sws.html doesn't support i7 but its dual socket and quite frankly amazing. I would ay just get 2 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115130

Heres the psu (x2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139007
RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145235

Re: Insain Build

The motherboard looks amazing i might go for that if i can either find it on ebay for a good price or see if my local shop can get it in the country.

Ive already got one Corsair PSU so thats $239 saved.
If this CPU is compatible i'll get two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819117139.

With one PSU, 2x CPU, RAM and M/B it comes to a total of $2770 (Might be able to drop the price a little if i find them on Ebay)

Just need to find a case thats all, i'll keep looking my self.

I would say at the moment my limit is $3500 i might be able to squeeze a little more if necessary to get a proper LC system (if needed)

Thanks for the help so far guys..

Re: Insain Build

Why SLI the 280GTX?

I would get the 295gtx in Quad. Or the 4870X2 in Quad.

Re: Insain Build

The 295GTX are still new and have worse driver support than the 280s. Plus im saving money as i already own 2 of the 280s

Also SLi still currently sucks so imagine wasting money of Quad SLi. No game supports its.
