Re: About To Order (Last Thread about This)

Here are some tips.
Why would you buy a stock cooler for the most important part of the computer? Invest a little money and keep your investment cool, 30-50 dollars on a heat-sink to keep it 10 degrees cooler will extend it's life 10 fold.
Also you will need a better power supply i doubt an intel LGA775 stock cooler will power a computer.
Do not buy that hard drive when they're are hard drives on Newegg.com with twice the buffer double the warranty for the same price.
Please check Newegg.com to compare prices on all these parts, and wait until Tuesday to purchase these because most companies will adjust they're prices and sales on Monday to go into affect on Tuesday.

Re: About To Order (Last Thread about This)

Why but an eol Q6700 if you need a Quad go for the faster FSB on a Q8300 or Q9450,
If just for gaming go for the faster E8500. either of which will come with a heat sink.

Re: About To Order (Last Thread about This)

Games dont use 4 cpu much .............. even the individual games that do use 4 cores its a very small insignificant percentage of game play ..............

I too would get the E8500 instead ............... it will overclock to 4.0ghz with a decent set-up; which you are very close to having ............ couple of tweaks needed

as for cooler ............ dont mess with that Masscool unit .............. its a copy cat of the stock cooler you will get with the CPU anyway ! use the stock cooler until you can pony up another $40.00 for the OCZ Vendetta 2 or a similar Sunbeam model

Motherboard = I would not get such a decent system then dwarf it with the Intel P43 chipset ............. although the P43 is better than the absolutely lame G31 chipset; the P43 surely isnt in the performance class!

get the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

another thought ................ right NOW there is an Asus P5Q for $70.00 at mwave.com / click refurbished / click motherboards ....................... these are all tested before selling ....... I have bought and sold hordes of them and havent received a bad one yet !
