Re: video editing computer build??

video editing is not an easy task to do on such a tight budget ............ video work is very cpu intensive ........... I suggest your nourish your budget or you will be wasting your $$$$$ $1000.00 to $1200.00 will get the job done well

Re: video editing computer build??

I agree for the 500 to 700, you would spend a few hundred of that in OSs if you want XP/mac (which I'm not sure if you can even do that on a PC or if you have to go get a mac - not without breaking some forum rules I tend to think anyway).

I guess it also depends how serious you want to get. If you want to just play around, then you could buy an average computer for now and see how it is, then save up for what you really need.

You can try looking for a used good computer, that comes with its problems of its own sometimes and how good you are looking for is going to be hard to find/find for that price.

Re: video editing computer build??

i'm actually gonna go with a barebones from tiger direct. it has a quad core processor and 4gb's of ddr2 ram and is SLI ready. with xp pro sp3. the computer is for my church so it isn't gonna be doing anything to big and bad. i'm currently running adobe after affects cs3 on a dell dimension 3000 that i've had for 4years . so anything is an upgrade at this point.
