Need help choosing a new motherboard.

So I already built my computer and everything.. ran for a few months then the mobo started acting retarded. Not even going to deal with abit anymore and I'm just going to buy a new one.

Can't decide on a good one though. :p

The specs of the comp are..

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz (1333 MHz FSB)
(2x 2 GB) 4 GB mushkin DDR2-800
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX 512 MB
Corsair 750w PSU

Gigabyte GA EP45 UD3R or an Asus P5Q E are 2 of my favorites.

Would DDR2 800 memory work in a motherboard that has a memory standard of something higher? (like DDR2 1200)

look at the m/b specs usually there are a range of speeds it will accommodate
i.e.
800-1600

yes .......... DDR2-800 memory will work on any board that supports the E8400

often times you can find awesome deals on GA-EP35-DS3L or GA-P35-DS3L or Asus P5K-E or P5K-Deluxe ................ I have sold plenty of systems based on these boards ........... very stable, dependable and high performance
