what i have.
m/b.. MSI K9n SLI-F ram... Corsair XMS-2 pc-6400 4 gb dual channel ( in dual channel mode ) video... ( 2 ) XFX 9800GT in SLI mode cpu... AMD 5800+ dual core windows Visat 32bit home premium power supply is a 600 watt this is like the 20th build or so i have done. the computer runs GREAT no problems during build or while running. the only thing is the two short beeps and one long beep. after doing some reading at the MSI website it's due to the ram. guessing that the mother board does not like the ram i chose for it. the msi website says it's compatible ram for the board. i have yet to update the bios for the M/B and i hate doing it... but it may have to be done. Corsair says the ram runs at 1.9 v and my motherbaord says in the bios that it's running it at 1.8 v . i have looked in the bios and found where i can adjust the ram timings and voltage but thats going into things i just don't understand so very well. would taking it out of dual mode and running in single mode stops the beeps ....just a thought. can only mess with it so much then it's going to kick the stupid you need to reauthorise the OS. |

Re: new build
I would think that its some sort of bios bug seeing as the computer runs good, you should go into bios and bump the voltage to 1.9 because thats what corsair specs just leave the timings alone.
Keep it running in dual channel and as long as it runs well and the beeps are only at startup I would not worry about it |

Re: new build
yeah thinking i'm not going to worry about it a whole heck of a lot. i looked on the MSI website and the Bios that came with the MB is the lastest Bios. i can play Crysis Warhead wide open in DX 10 everything on high and 4 x anti without a hitch or hicup......so let it beep.
