Building for my friend
My friend wants a new PC and I've advised him to let me choose the parts instead of just buying it from some random PC salesmen who will probably give him a mobo with on-board graphics or something.
I'm thinking in terms of budget, I get him a cheap SHAW tornado case with power supply, but we chuck the PSU for something decent like a Seasonic PSR 550+. The case is a bit cheap and rattly but the price is right. Then I want to put in a 3ghz E8400 on a P5Q-SE mobo. I doubt he'll need the overlocking features on the other P5Q boards since he's mostly PC illiterate. 2 sticks of 1gig DDR800 Kingston Ram and I'll throw in my old 7950gt on lend as a video card until he can afford to buy something more fitting like a 9800gtx. Thoughts? |
