Re: Right equipment for my server?

Yes it will all work together, however please not that Abit has exited the Motherboard business so a warranty replacement may be an issue if needed.

I would not use a power supply that comes with a case most are junk, look for a case and power supply separately.

I take it you are going to use the onboard video?

I don't see a OS listed.

Re: Right equipment for my server?

Thank you for your reply.

I will take my chances with the power supply and use the one that came with the case. Yes, i am going to be using the onboard video seen as it will only be used as a web server/FTP. As for operating system i don't really know. I have Windows Server 2003 (genuine) but i also have Ubuntu 8.10 server. Which one would you reccomend? This is the first time im trying my hand at running a home server.

My aim is to run a FTP so i can host some files and download anywhere at anytime also i would like a webserver so i can host my website. Would these two options be capable on just one server?

Thanks

Ryan.

Re: Right equipment for my server?

You could use either depends on which you have more experience with Apache on Linux may prove easier to set up as a web server.

For an always on server I would rethink the power supply.
