Asus P5Q Help
I am almost finished with my first time build, and am following the manual closely. I want to use 2 SATA drives, one for data the other for programs and the OS on the boot drive. I will be installing Vista Ultimate.
In the manual it states 'You must install the Windows XP Service Pack 1 before using Serial ATA hard disk drives.' I'm assuming that it would be the same for Vista, but how do I install the OS before the drive, unless I have to use an IDE drive as the boot drive? Thanks for your help. |

Re: Asus P5Q Help
Vista has sata drivers built in, no worries there. Just connect the one drive that you want to be the OS drie, install the other after vista is up and running. You may have to go into the bios and set sata to be seen as ide, not sure with vista, anytime I've installed it, I have done that when I make the other usual changes
