OS: Vista Ult.32 (Trying anyway)

Mistake Newb With New System Problems

Hello folks, newb here. I just put together a new system and after resolving a few issues I'm stuck. I cannot get any OS to install. With Vista, it will get to the second load screen and freeze. With ubuntu it basically does the same. It will clear the first load scren and then go to a black screen with all kinds of command line mumbo jumbo.

For reference, the system is built on an Asus P5Q SE2 MB with an Intel E7300 proc. I'm trying to load the OS onto a Samsung 160gb HDD, but I've tried with a WD 500gb and a Seagate 1tb as well with the same result. Ive tried with one 1gb stick of my corsair 800mhz ram and with two. I've also tried two DVD drives and different SATA cables.

I haven't a clue what the deal is here, I've more or less exhausted my own knowledge base on this, any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Newb With New System Problems

I figure I'll update the scenario. I reset the cmos on the board and was able to install Ubuntu, but Widows still hangs up.

Re: Newb With New System Problems

Post your temps and voltages from within bios.
+12V,+3.3V and +5V

Did you load the bios defaults?

Check with corsair for the ram voltage you may have to set it manually in the bios
