OS Install Frozen
Well after many headaches and several minor injuries I managed to get my computer working, err, almost.
I'm trying to install the operating system (Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit) and after the first reboot it's installed/updated all the files and it did the "Completing Installation" phase, but it's stuck on that phase. The dots next to the phase are no longer moving, I am unable to move the mouse cursor, and it's been stuck like this for about 25 minutes now. I've never installed an OS from scratch before so I have no idea if this is normal or how concerned I should be. One thing I did notice is that it tried to boot from the CD with a fresh install before it resumed the first install (when it restarted), should I modify my boot order to prevent this? System Specs: evga nforce 750i mobo intel core 2 q9550 quad core 8gb of kingston hyperx 1066 (4 x 2gb) 2 evga geforce 260 core 216 superclocked (sli bridge already setup) creative x-fi soundblaster sata seagate barracuda 7200.11 1tb hdd 7200rpm 3.0gb/s sata lg 22x dvd combo optical drive 1000 watt OCZ elite x stream psu and almost a vista home premium 64bit os. another quick question: my memory is supposed to be 1066 but my mobo is reading it as 800, how can i fix this? thanks in advance for your help |

Re: OS Install Frozen
sounds like you will have to try either a vista repair install or .............
I would wipe the drive with killdisk (free) and start clean again
