New computers parts
Guys i was wondering what is the average cost for a CPU, Graphics card and ram.
I want a good graphic card that will allow me to play Battlefield 2142 on High and over 100/150 FPS. So what stuff should i get? And what is the most important to get higher FPS? Graphics Card: GeForce 8800 GT $159. ( I have GeForce 8500 GT CPU: I have Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs) Is that good enough? RAM: 1024 Ram Should i upgrade everything or just the ram and/or graphics card? Plus i only want to spend less then maybe 300-400. |

Re: New computers parts
Well now-a-days I'd go with a 4850 or if you really like nvidia a 9800gt :-)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125238 (4850, and you get a free mouse with it aswel hehe) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121268 (9800gt) I would recommend the 4850 as it just slaughters the 9800gt in everything :-) now-a-days the 8800gt is very outdated. my 4870 runs crysis max 1024x768 (I dual screen on a 15'' and a 22'') around 30 fps (max as in, everything including aa and af) Last edited by groudon185p; 12-28-2008 at 11:18 PM. |

Re: New computers parts
What power supply do you have as with a more powerful video card you will most likely need a more powerful supply.
The 1.86 CPU will be a limiting factor here. |
